Cowboy Theme is a Child's Delight

The colorful cowboy theme in this child's bedroom will delight any school age youngster. To view hundreds of great ideas for your children's rooms, go to www.getdecorating.com/

The bed has head and foot boards shaped like garden gates. The chest of drawers has saloon doors that open to reveal a toy chest.

On one wall, a fabric wall hanging depicts a rodeo rider on a wild bucking bronco. Below it, a child-size arm chair upholstered in blue denim and red print makes an inviting place to curl up and read a picture book.

The classic red, blue and white color scheme is accented by a black and white faux cowhide rug. Other furnishings include a wooden night stand with a cow print lamp, a book case and a child's table with a computer.

The colorful furnishings are set against pale taupe colored walls. The flooring is an off-white berber carpet. Two corner windows are fitted with two-inch blinds and framed by panels of light blue denim fabric. Overhead, a ceiling fan cools the room on summer nights.

The bed is set at an angle with the curtained windows framing the head board. This corner placement creates visual interest but it can also be practical. In an older child's room, the bed can be used effectively to divide the play side from the study side.
